Client CGU Insurance / Agency cummins&partners / Film Direction Paul Bruty & Peter Baker for The Glue Society / Production Company Revolver
This is one of my favourite projects and a good example of the sort of atypical productions I am often asked to direct. The bravery of the client to buy an entire campaign that hinged on one good reaction still astounds me.
The production was split into two stages. The documentary component was filmed first which informed the script for a one-off theatre production. The play was designed to celebrate the resilience of Oyster Farmer, Max Cunningham, who had lost everything in devastating bushfires. He was in attendance to watch his own story unfold in front of the rest of his community.
So many talented people came together to make the story work. From the ideation of Doogie Chapman and Connor Beaver; the production creativity of Helen Morahan; the attention to detail of my co-director Pete Baker and the editing brilliance of Tim Parrington to name but a few.
